Waffle HouseI think far too many people end up in jail after April Fools pranks gone wrong and 2013 did nothing to buck that trend. Take this Virginia woman, for example, who could face up to a year in prison after the April Fools Day prank she tried to pull at the Waffle House she worked at.

According to WAVY, police were sent out to the Waffle House early Monday morning after getting reports of a robbery. Officers investigated, interviewed employees, and even had their K-9 unit working on the case. Turns out it was just a big joke organized by a 20-year-old female employee.

I guess the joke is on her because police arrested her and charged her with falsely summoning police, which could cost her up to $2,500 and up to a year in prison.

Makes to old magic tape on the bottom of the mouse look like a much better idea now, doesn’t it?
