Weld County Man Arrested For Trying To Run Over Sheriff’s Deputies

A suspected drunk driver in Weld County got himself on some extra hot water after he tried to run over some sheriff's deputies. His excuse? He was trying to run over his ex and her new boyfriend.

According to the Greeley Tribune, the 34-year-old had run a number of stop signs and was suspected to be driving drunk. When police showed up at his home he had a case of mistaken identity and told police,

He thought their flashlights belonged to his ex-wife and her new boyfriend, and he 'gunned the engine so that he wouldn’t have to deal with them.'

He was arrested on suspicion of attempted vehicular assault, vehicular eluding, disobeying a traffic control device and driving under the influence.

Hmm, he almost kills a police officer and then basically says, 'Oops, I was trying yo kill someone else?'

This man has many issues to deal with, an overabundance of intelligence is not one of them.
