Thief Cuts Down Tree to Steal Bike [VIDEO] – Dumb Criminal of the Day

Sometimes stubbornness and stupidity go hand-in-hand. A crook in Brooklyn, NY decided he wanted to steal a bike, and that the best way to get it was to chop down the tree it was locked to.

The video below is surveillance footage that was posted to YouTube and sped up. It almost looks like some of the other guys are trying to stop him from cutting the tree down as he returns five or six times to get the job done. All-in-all it took about 12-minutes to chop the tree down.

These delinquents destroyed a perfectly good 20-foot tall gingko tree to take a joyride on a stolen bike.

Absolutely ridiculous.
