Mom Steals Candy, Leaves 1-Year-Old Child Behind

Today's dumb criminal certainly isn't up for any 'mom of the year' awards; she was busted after stealing candy from a drugstore in New York, but leaving her baby behind.

According to DNA Info New York, the 23-year-old wonder-mom was pushing her one-year-old in a stroller as she went on a candy shoplifting spree at a drug store. She had stuffed over $250 worth of confections into the stroller before store employees confronted her and her two accomplices.

She then used the stroller, with baby in it, as a battering ram to get past the employee. The worker had a hold on the stroller, so mom and the candy crooks took off, leaving the little one behind.

All three adults were apprehended and charged with robbery, abandonment of a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

What mom, in her right mind, would choose a box of tic tacs over her own child!? (Okay it was a LOT of boxes of tic tacs, but still, no contest that the baby should be more important to her.)
