Beautiful, confident White-Tailed BuckWhen most people see a wild animal, they might stop and admire them, maybe even snap a few photos. Especially when it’s one of those moments when a wild animal is in a place they normally aren’t, say a Walmart parking lot.

Well, a Pennsylvania man didn’t pull out his camera when this happened; he pulled out his handgun and took the buck down.

This story comes to us from the Indiana Gazette.

This guy was doing some banking in the retail plaza and spotted the buck. He jumped out of his truck with a handgun and started firing at it. Not one shot, but multiple shots. He chased the white-tailed deer through the parking lot and across a highway before he caught and killed it.

I’m not a hunter, but I’m not against legal hunting at all. However, whipping out a handgun and treating a retail parking lot like your own personal firing range? That’s just plain stupid.

This guy faces charges of reckless endangerment, hunting without a license, shooting on or across highways and unlawful killing or taking of big game.

Somehow I don’t think he’d get much cred for his hunting buddies either, “I bagged this one outside of Walmart on my way to the bank,” wouldn't qualify as a very good hunting story. At least in my book.
