Some people have no respect for others’ property. Take this guy, for example. He stole a ceramic pig statue from a restaurant in Detroit and stopped to pose for pictures with it in the elevator while making his getaway.

Click On Detroit reports the pig statue lived at the Red Smoke Barbeque restaurant in Detroit.  Our kleptomaniac was eating at the restaurant, paid his bill (with a credit card) then picked up the statue and walked out of the restaurant.

Not exactly an intricate criminal mastermind we’re dealing with, obviously.

Here is where it gets a little weird, the man entered an elevator with another women. That woman was friends with an employee at the BBQ joint, so she cleverly asked the guy what he was holding and asked if she could take a picture of it.

He posed for a smiling photo-op, stolen pig in hand, and went on his merry way.

The pig was a gift to the owner from an employee for his 50th birthday and he really wants his pig back.

We are looking for a pig that's about 2 feet high, I would say about 30 pounds. It's got a little chef's hat on it.

The owner said he wouldn’t even press charges if the thief brings back his beloved statue.

Being they have his photo and his credit card number I can’t imagine he’ll be too hard to track down.

And apparently the guy took the thing to cash in on a $50 bet from a friend. You can read the whole story and see the video here from Click On Detroit

I wish these were the worst kind of crime stories there were to read about online.
