Ok, I'll admit this idea has passed through my mind... whats to stop someone from scanning a different price tag in the "self-check out lane?" Well, although I've thought about what would happen, I now know! Some moron tried to scan an item with a $1.17 price tag instead of scanning the bar code on a $228 flat screen TV.

The Texas man went to his neighborhood Wal-Mart shopping for a new flat screen TV when he got there he figured he could get a quite a discount on the TV.

He placed a price tag sticker from an item only valued at $1.17 and placed it over the bar-code for the flat screen TV. He then attempted to purchase the TV in the self check out lane. Security and surveillence quickly caught on to what the man was doing and swiftly invited him into the loss prevention office where he tried to hide the "false" price tag.

After police showed up to the store a quick background check was done finding that the man had previous theft convictions. Because of those previous convictions the man was given some pretty harsh charges. Felony theft, destruction of evidence and a class A misdemeanor destruction of writing.

Don't do it ladies and gents!
