Dumb Criminal of the Day: Thief Locks Keys in Car, Waits For Mom

Locking your keys in your car is always a pain. Locking them in your car before you hold up a convenience store? That’s just plain stupid.

But, that’s exactly what a Louisiana man did and he made matters worse by waiting around for his mom to bring him a spare key!

According to WBRZ 28-year-old Nathan Sonnier took a drink from a cooler at a convenience store and then pulled a gun while demanding cash from the store clerk. He then went out to his car where he discovered that he had locked his keys in his car.

The store clerk called police and when they showed up they found Sonnier still waiting by his car. Apparently he had called his mom to bring a spare key.

I can’t make this stuff up; he committed armed robbery, locked his keys in his car, called his mom, and sat by the vehicle with his gun and his stolen goods hoping his mom would show up before the cops.
