Cash machines, ATMs and change machines are pretty tough. Tough enough that the average criminal can’t just walk up and clean them out. But try telling that to this guy from Florida.

Surveillance video shows him walking in to a laundromat where he pulled out a handgun and opened fire on their change machine trying to get to the quarters inside.

The man walked into the Busy Bubbles laundromat in Winter Haven at 9 p.m. on Jan. 4, pointed a semi-automatic handgun at the change machine and fired several times.

However, despite the suspect's best efforts, the change machine would not yield. The man then fled on foot.

I don’t like telling people how to do their jobs  (or crimes), but first of all a full change machine isn't going to have more than a couple hundred bucks inside, tops (Probably a lot less). Secondly, getting into locked metal container with a handgun is darn near impossible (The Mythbusters proved you can’t even shoot your way through a door-lock with a handgun).

Logic and common sense didn't stop this guy though. Check out the surveillance video below. I suppose he did a good job in covering up his face with his hooded sweatshirt because police are still looking for him with nothing more than the vague description of “a black man who stands 5-feet-11 and weighs about 185 pounds. He was wearing a gray hoodie and dark baggy pants.”
