Dumb Criminal of the Day: Gunman Shamed Out of Robbing Babysitter

Today our dumb criminal comes to us from Germany, where an armed robber held up a babysitter at gunpoint.

What happened to make this scumbag change his mind and walk away empty-handed?

Here's the story, according to The Local:

A babysitter was watching two children under the age of seven. The kids were upstairs when she heard the doorbell. She answered the door she saw a man with a gun who promptly forced his way inside the residence.

He had the terrified babysitter at gunpoint and was demanding money money from her, but the children upstairs heard what was going on and came to the rescue.

Both of the little ones emptied their piggy banks and came downstairs offering  all the money they had to the intruder.

Two kids under the age of seven, offering their life savings for him to leave their terrified babysitter alone.

Obviously shamed out of what he was doing, the man put his gun away and left the house without a word.

I guess I'll give him a mulligan for doing the right thing...eventually.

I just wish more criminals would think about what they are doing to other people BEFORE they decide to hold someone up at gunpoint.

German authorities are still looking for the would-be robber.
