Dumb Criminal of the Day: Cop Arrested For DUI After DUI Class

Apparently a New Jersey cop though his mantra was to serve and protect and get wasted before taking 4-wheeler joyrides.

A Midland Park, New Jersey, police officer was arrested for driving while intoxicated after consuming alcohol at a state police class on DUI arrests.

Wait, why was he drinking at a DUI class?!

According to NorthJersey.com the officer was given measured amounts of alcohol to test its effect on his physical abilities. After those tests were done another sober officer drove this guy home. But once he was there he decided to take a joyride on his ATV. He took it out in his neighborhood (which is illegal), lost control while trying to make a turn and flipped it.

He did get some pretty serious injuries that required surgery, but he should be okay.

His blood alcohol level at the time of the accident was .13 and he faces a slew of charges involving driving while intoxicated and illegal operation of an ATV.

Testing drunken reflexes is probably not part of the job you want to take home with you.
