Dumb Criminal of the Day: ‘Alcatraz’ Fans Trying To Break Into Prison
“The TV show ‘Alcatraz’ is fictional; many areas it depicts are not real. Closed areas protect you, historic structures and nesting birds.” -Sign that had to be posted at Alcatraz this week
Dear stupid people,
Stuff you see on TV shows is not real.
Sincerely,
-Me
Last week a new show called “Alcatraz” premiered on Fox and in that time people have already let their stupidity run-amok. Fans of the show have been escaping guided tours and sneaking in to closed off areas of the former prison in hopes of finding a top secret room underneath the island like the one in the show.
I know, I know... this may shatter your world, but when someone makes up a story to tell on TV they usually make some stuff up. According to TMZ, a National Parks Service rep said,
Many of them have confessed they’re looking for a high tech control room, described on the show as a ‘bat-cave underneath Alcatraz.’
If you’re dumb enough to spend the time and effort breaking into a prison to look for a room you saw on a fictional TV show, maybe you deserve to see the inside of a fully-functioning prison.
