Deleware Man Blames DUI Car Wreck On Elephant

I don't think there is a good excuse for driving while impaired, and I'm sure most cops have heard some pretty outlandish excuses, but a Delaware man really went out on a limb and blamed his stupidity on an elephant!

According to My Fox Philly, the 31-year-old drove his Land Rover into a guardrail Friday night. When confronted by a state trooper he said,

The accident he was involved in was the result of attempting to avoid an elephant he saw in the middle of the road.

If you're not a "nature-person", let me assure you that I doubt there are any elephants in Delaware that don't belong to a zoo or a circus. He might as well have said he saw a polar bear or a brontosaurus.

What was this guy smoking that made him think he could pull that excuse over on the fuzz? Well, maybe he did think he saw an elephant, he confessed to smoking a joint dipped in PCP before taking his drive that night.

He was arrested to DUI...his seventh DUI.
