A Longmont man was arrested after threatening police who had shown up at his home to arrest his daughter. As it turns out, charging sheriff’s deputies with a broom is not a good move.

I guess some parents will do just about anything to protect their babies, even when those babies are 27-years-old.

According to UPI, the 27-year-old had a $20,000 traffic warrant out for her arrest and police came to her home to arrest her. When they knocked they could hear a baby crying but no one answered the door. Worried that the baby was home alone, police tried to break in and that’s when they were greeted by the girl’s father and his menacing cleaning tool.

He must have been pretty intent on defending his little girl’s honor because he charged police with the broom and made them retreat to the edge of his yard. But then they pulled out a stun gun and took down Sir Sweeps-a-lot.

Now he’s facing charges of menacing and second-degree assault on a peace officer.

As for the daughter, she had run out the back of the house during the broom incident and has yet to be found.
