Impersonating a police officer is a pretty serious offense, but that was the plan hatched by two teenagers in Florida in order to try and steal a bunch of Yu-Gi-Oh cards from a Walmart store.

According to the Huffington Post, the plan involved a 17-year-old boy walking in to a Walmart Store with a gun holster and a fake police badge in his wallet. He claimed to be a police officer and wanted the manager to page someone over the intercom in order to arrest him.

The alleged criminal the fake cop had paged was his 14-year-old buddy whom he proceeded to put in plastic handcuffs and the two walked out of the store along with the ‘stolen’ Yu-Gi-Oh cards.

But a fake badge, a 17-year-old cop, and plastic handcuffs had to have looked a little fishy to someone. The store manager followed the boys outside and once they saw him they tried to flee the scene on foot, but were caught by the real cops in a nearby parking lot.

Now the 17-year-old faces a felony count of impersonating an officer and resisting police while the 14-year-old has been charged with theft and resisting police.

I wonder if they allow Yu-Gi-Oh in juvenile hall?
