‘Jersey Boys’ Trailer: Clint Eastwood Directs The Story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons
The trailer for Clint Eastwood's 'Jersey Boys' showcases one of the Oscar-winning actor's strangest choices of material in a long time. Sure, we expect Clint to make Westerns and Oscar pictures, but a full-blown musical? This could get interesting.
We're curious to see how Eastwood's more naturalistic approach works in adapting the hit Broadway show, which chronicles the rise (and troubles) of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The film stars John Lloyd Young, Erich Bergen, Vincent Piazza, and Michael Lomenda, though the most famous performer in the trailer is easily Christopher Walken. Eastwood has always been passionate about music, as he has composed a number of the scores for his films and directed the Charlie Parker bio-pic 'Bird,' but this is his first full-blown musical since his appearance in 'Paint Your Wagon' (a film is mostly known as a punchline, partly because of 'The Simpsons').
Here's the film's synopsis:
Clint Eastwood’s big screen version of the Tony Award-winning musical tells the story of the four young men from the wrong side of the tracks in New Jersey who came together to form the iconic `60s rock group The Four Seasons. Their trials and triumphs are accompanied by the hit songs that influenced a generation, and are now being embraced by a new generation of fans through the stage musical.
'Jersey Boys' hits theaters June 20. Here's the film's poster:
