Go On a Moonlit Exploration of Devil’s Backbone Open Space in November
You'll soon have a chance to experience the Beaver Moon while exploring the great Northern Colorado outdoors.
Larimer County's Natural Resources Department is hosting a guided hike on Monday, November 14, at 5:30 p.m. of Devil's Backbone Open Space in Loveland where you can learn about humankind's relationship with the moon and its effect on nocturnal wildlife. Weather permitting, the 2-hour "Full Moon Keyhole Hike" will be followed by a viewing of the moon through a telescope.
In October, we got to see the Hunter's Moon (which was spectacular). See photos here.
While the hike is well after the peak of November's supermoon, the Beaver Moon, you'll still get a pretty good view of the moon's fullness (its peak will be at 6:52 a.m. MT on November 14). Participation is free, but registration is required. (To register, go here.)
