Used and Worn Clothing Now Benefits Greeley Home Builds

Parents going through closets getting ready for Back-to-School wonder: Will last year’s pants be long enough?  Will the kids’ shoes still fit? What will I do with the worn out summer clothes? Now Greeley has a new and charitable way to clear out those unwanted items and benefit the Habitat for Humanity!

Through a new community partnership with Recycle That LLC, the Greeley Habitat for Humanity ReStore can now accept Clothing, Shoes, Fashion Accessories, Books/CDs/DVDs/ Linens, and small Household goods.  And, all these items will be reused, repurposed or recycled  – keeping them out of landfill and raising valuable funds for Habitat.

“We are excited to work with Recycle That to increase the kinds of items we can collect at our ReStore,” said Joe Tennessen, Greeley Area Habitat for Humanity’s Executive Director.  “This allows us to provide even more support for Habitat’s mission of putting God’s love into action; bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope.”

Habitat will not be adding the clothing donations to the ReStore inventory for sale, but instead will collect the items and sell them to Recycle That, who will in turn, recycle or repurpose the donations.

Residents wishing to donate used clothing and other household goods, as well as furniture, appliances, building materials and even vehicles, can deliver them to the Greeley Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 2400 29th Street, or call 970-352-1402 to arrange for a pick-up.
