Listen to Prince’s Unreleased Track ‘Moonbeam Levels,’ Off the Posthumous ‘Prince4Ever’ Album
Warner Bros. Records released Prince 4Ever, the first posthumous music compilation since Prince passed away back in April, on Tuesday, November 22. Along with his greatest hits, the disc contains a previously unreleased track called "Moonbeam Levels."
Originally recorded in 1982 while Prince was working on his album 1999, the piano and guitar-driven track is a sweeping, emotional new wave ballad which was reportedly also considered for inclusion on Rave Unto the Joy Fantastic, a planned yet never released album.
While the song is not available for streaming online, ABC News held a special listening event in New York City. You can hear "Moonbeam Levels" in the video below:
Prince 4Ever also includes iconic hits like "Kiss," "Purple Rain" and "Little Red Corvette" among many, many others, and the release comes with a booklet of never-before-seen images photographed by Herb Ritts.
