Last year, the Aggie Theatre announced new Denver-based ownership, and now a second Old Town Fort Collins concert venue is following suit.

As of today (Oct. 19), Westword reports that Denver's Cervantes' Masterpiece Ballroom and Soda Jerk have acquired the venue, Hodi's Half Note, on College Ave. In a statement to Westword, Soda Jerk owner Mike Barsch said that he 'cannot wait to start filling the calendar with amazing shows!'

We're with you, Mike. Soda Jerk Presents books venues like the Marquis Theater and Summit Music Hall in downtown Denver, and the Black Sheep in Colorado Springs, which are typically rock venues.

On a personal note, I hope this means more nationally-touring rock acts, as that's what I feel Fort Collins needs more of.

Cervantes' Masterpiece is also the owner of the Aggie Theatre, which took effect in 2015, hinting at a 'revamp.' As a Fort Collins concertgoer, I feel like I'm still waiting to see any major changes, but the idea that they could happen is good news to me (rooftop patio??!) and we're excited for the future of Hodi's in the hands of Soda Jerk.
