It was definitely not a quiet night in Downtown Fort Collins. As a resident, I heard sirens several times in the early morning hours, and having slept with my windows open, it became apparent that something was burning nearby. However, it actually wasn't one fire, but two.

Poudre Fire Authority tweeted that crews were on the scene of a commercial fire at 143 W. Mountain Avenue. Though authorities didn't specify the business, 143 W. Mountain Avenue is the address of the popular Rio Grande restaurant. Moments before 3 a.m., Poudre Fire Authority tweeted that the fire was under control, but no other information has been provided at this time.

At the same time, crews were extinguishing a house fire on the 300 block of Stover Street. Just before 3 a.m., Poudre Fire Authority responded to the call, which unfortunately resulted in an injury. There is no additional information on the cause of the fire at this time.

Last night, emergency crews were also responding to heavy flash flooding in the Poudre Canyon, just outside of Fort Collins city limits. According to NoCo Alert, mandatory evacuations were ordered along Highway 14 for 'residents and business occupants due to immediate and imminent danger.' On Wednesday morning, news sources had reported that two people are missing, and one person has died.

The Mishawaka Amphitheatre in the Poudre Canyon has stated that it is undamaged and open as of Wednesday morning.
