Colorado Ties Top Day For New COVID-19 Cases

COVID-19 is spiking once again in Colorado.

On Monday, Colorado tied the top day for number of new COVID-19 cases with 967 —originally set during the high point of the pandemic in April. The three-day and seven day also set some records this past week as well, according to the Denver Post.

Colorado has now had a total of 80,085 cases during the pandemic.

Hospitalization have spiked in recent days as well with 290 COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized.

The World Health Organization recommends keeps the positivity rate below 5% to help contain this virus but on Tuesday, that rate went up to 5.4%. Colorado Governor Jared Polis has stressed the importance of getting this under control quickly to avoid going over capacity at hospitals.

Polis has also stressed the importance of wearing a mask, not getting too close to others and washing your hands as much as you can.

I'm definitely a little concerned. Hopefully we can come together (although not too close), work together and find a way to fight this and beat this thing and get things back to normal...as much as we can.
