Colorado Singles Okay with Sex Before the First Date – But Not if Their Date’s Phone is Cracked
Sex before the first date? That's what a good number of singles are down with, but not if their date's phone is cracked.
USA TODAY broke down results from Match's annual Singles in America survey, which reveals 34% of singles have had sex before a first date, with Millennials 48% more likely to do so than other generations of singles.
Helen Fisher, biological anthropologist and chief scientific adviser to Match, says Millennials are "career oriented, so sex before the first date could be a sex interview, where they want to know if they want to spend time with this person."
Fair enough, I guess? But if your phone is cracked, you have an older phone, or use the "clicking" sound effects while texting, you have a worse chance at getting asked on another date. Certified sex therapist Kimberly Resnick Anderson explained to USA TODAY, "I think we will see more of these taboos as singles are leading the way in expressing new forms of politeness in the technological era."
