Online shoe seller Zappos.com says a hacker may have accessed the personal information of up to 24 million customers.

Zappos.com, is a huge online retailer the specializes in shoes, clothing, handbags and more. And they are facing a public relations nightmare and had to send out millions of emails to ask customers to reset their passwords or set up new ones after hackers mave have compromised their internal database.Think about that, 24 million users may have had their info stolen!

According to 9News and to Zappos.com,  customers' actual credit card and payment information was not stolen. However, names, phone numbers, email addresses, billing and shipping addresses, the last four digits from credit cards and more may have been accessed by the cyber criminals. That information could be used to crack other passwords and personal accounts or be used in identity theft.

THE BETTER NEWS:

The database that stores your critical credit card and other payment data was NOT affected or accessed.
