Popular Windsor Taco Bell Is Reopening After Being Seized

It's now official... After being closed for most of 2023 after being seized back in January, the Taco Bell on Main Street in Windsor, Colorado is getting ready to re-open, and we're so excited.

The Taco Bell In Windsor Colorado Is Reopening Soon

Our radio stations are located right on Main Street in Windsor, less than 5 minutes away from the former Taco Bell. I enjoyed a meal there a handful of times since I starting working in Windsor back in October 2021, and it always seemed like it was busy, and business was good. Especially around lunchtime, those high school kids love them some Taco Bell. Also being the only Taco Bell in town, it was a popular fast food option. While it always seemed like it was jumping, something happened behind the scenes and the property was seized by the city of Windsor at the beginning of the year.

Why Was Taco Bell In Windsor, Colorado Seized And Closed?

In February, we reported here that the Main Street Taco Bell was seized due to non-payment of sales tax and the town of Windsor's certificate of registration was revoked as seen in the pix below.

The city seized the building in January and it has been closed since then, that's about to change. I noticed some activity there when I was driving to work a few weeks back so I drove by to get a closer look...

When I pulled up, what I saw was a crew gutting the current Taco Bell building, and doing the much-needed updates to this incredibly outdated location to re-open its doors this summer. Seeing all of this I just assumed the popular Winsor Taco Bell was set to return, and this week I can confirm just that.

Windsor Taco Bell On Main Street Is Coming Back

You can see them painting the exterior of the building as they continue to update the interior as well. Also, as seen in the picture below, they're now hiring as this location is "coming soon," or in this case, reopening soon.

No official opening date has been announced as of this writing but we'd guess it'll be sometime in June at the very latest. Now that Taco Bell is officially coming back to Main Street, can we pretty please work on a Chick-Fil-A and a Chipotle? Speaking of new places to eat in Northern Colorado...
