Target To Close All Colorado Stores On The Same Day
As we get closer to the end of the year, people around Colorado find themselves wanting and needing to shop more than ever. One day coming up that used to be a huge shopping day won't be an option again this year.
Target Confirms All Colorado Locations To Close On The Same Day
Tis the season to go shopping, fa la la la la, la la la la. Were you singing there? Sorry about that...
We shop all the time, but this is the time of year when we actually enjoy shopping. Well, at least some of us do.
I hate shopping for myself, but I love going out and shopping for others. Getting stuff that will make others happy brings me great joy.
Until 2020, one of my family's favorite times to shop was Black Friday, but we loved that it began on Thursday night.
Something about going out after a great holiday meal was fun for us, but since the pandemic, those days are gone.
No More Black Friday Shopping On Thanksgiving
Black Friday shopping in the beginning was just that, shopping on the Friday after Thanksgiving only.
Over the years it expanded into late Thanksgiving night, but it slowly started earlier and earlier. While some loved it, others hated it because it kept people away from their families on the holiday because they had to work.
When the pandemic happened in 2020, the big chain stores, malls, etc. decided family and keeping everyone safe was more important that year.
The reaction to the change was so positive that nearly all of the giant chain stores have remained closed on Thanksgiving, including Target stores.
All Target Stores Closed Again On Black Friday In Colorado
While Target's early Black Friday shopping on Thanksgiving was a huge success for many years, the chain has announced that it will once again be closed on Thanksgiving, despite many hoping it would re-open.
Joining in with other popular Black Friday destinations like Walmart, Best Buy, and even Walgreens this year, Target is letting its employees spend the holiday like they should be, with their families.
Instead of Thanksgiving shopping, both Target and Walmart will be offering special Black Friday deals online all month long, as well as deals in-store on Black Friday itself.
While the in-store deals aren't quite what they were in 2019, it's still fun to get out and knock out some gift list items while saving a few bucks.
You can however skip the in-person aspect altogether and purchase online and be done with it as they typically have some pretty decent online deals.
Will Thanksgiving Black Friday shopping ever return? Time will tell, but for 2024, the answer is no. Happy Thanksgiving!
