What Does Elmo Have In Common With An IPad?

I found a timeline of the best selling gifts of all time.  It seems to go back and forth between technology and kids characters... iPad, eReader, ELMO Live doll, iTouch, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Bratz Dolls, Razor Scooters, Pokemon, Beanie Babies, Barney, POG, The Transformers,  BMX bikes, Rubik's Cube, Pet Rock, Barbie, Mr. Potato Head,  the Slinky, Monopoly board game and finally in 1930 it was Mickey and Minnie Mouse HANDKERCHIEFS (capitalized because  I have never typed that word before).  The complete list is here .  I think this is a neat way to look at how the times have changed!
