Two people originally from Colorado are destined to go much further than a Mile High, as part of a team headed to the moon in 2024.

According to the Denver Post, the next mission to the moon will involve NASA, commercial spaceflight companies, and international partners. Two astronauts on the 18-person team hail from Colorado.

Jessica Watkins is from Lafayette, and Mathew Dominick is from Wheat Ridge.

The 2024 'Artemis' mission will be exploring the south pole of the moon and is slated to include the 'first woman setting foot upon the moon.' Will that woman be Astronaut Watkins? They do not say.

Good luck, and Go, Colorado!
