There are a number of Memorial Day Events in Northern Colorado. These are the big ones.

This Saturday, May 25th at 11:30 the Traveling Vietnam Wall ceremony will happen in Fort Collins. 58,000 names will be read aloud at the Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado which is located just east of the dog park at Spring Canyon Park in West Fort Collins off of Horsetooth Road.

Most of America might look forward to Memorial Day because it gives us a three-day break from our hectic work lives and an excuse to grill great gobs of red meat over an open pit, but it’s intentions are much nobler.

As Memorial Day opens the gate to summer, we all begin to plan our outdoor activities. Most of us will find a reason to get outside for the long weekend and enjoy food, friends, family and some delicious beverages. And really, it wouldn’t be a summer holiday without some grilling.

I just saw that the Larimer Sheriff tweeted, "DUI saturation patrols begin tonight as well as on-going extra patrols for seat belt enforcement. Don't drink & drive & buckle up." A good reminder for us all to be safe on the roads this Memorial Day weekend.
