My wife and I went for a walk over the weekend and stumbled upon what I believe is the coolest bridge in Fort Collins. We got a couple photos you should see.
A bridge off of US 34 in Drake, that hovers above the Big Thompson River was dedicated to a man who worked with the Colorado Department of Highways for 32 years.
When you think of Colorado, you don't necessarily think of spectacular bridges. However, Colorado does have some amazing structures that deserve mention.
You'd have to have the world's worst luck to just happen to pass under a bridge at the exact moment a part of it breaks off, going through your windshield!
The history of this bridge in Colorado has had many tragic moments, including the Hungate Massacre in the 1800's and a car accident which took the lives of two teenagers back in the 90's. Are their ghosts still in the area?
Many of us dread having to get off the Prospect Road exit in Fort Collins, knowing that delays are inevitable. Starting in June, it will get much worse.
We have some roadwork to look forward to this summer. According to the Coloradoan, CDOT should start work on re-doing the I-25/Highway 392 interchange this summer. (That’s the Windsor Exit)
