There is no denying that Colorado has some the nations best sports fans. But with passionate fans sometimes comes out of control/illegal behavior. We have seen that sort of passion come out in years past when the Avalanche and Broncos have won championships, and cops are trying to nip that before it begins this year.

Fort Collins police are asking that anyone who is throwing a Super Bowl party within Fort Collins city limits, no matter how low key, to register the party with them. Students may do the same through Off-Campus Life at CSU.

Those who register will get a warning call from police before they arrive at the door to issue the likes of a noise citation. Oh, and by the way, unreasonable noise is a misdemeanor offense carrying a maximum penalty of a $1,000 fine and/or 6 months in jail, so it just may be worth your time.

The deadline to register your party is 4pm on Friday.
