Presumptive Exposure Leaves 23 in Quarantine at Greeley Middle School
A presumptive positive COVID-19 test has left 23 students and staff at Greeley's Franklin Middle School in quarantine.
According to The Greeley Tribune, the Greeley-Evans School District became aware of the possible exposure on Tuesday (August 25).
While the district did not reveal who potentially contracted the virus, the 19 students and four staff members who were affected will switch to online-only learning for the next two weeks.
The publication reports that 19 people at Jackson Elementary School in Greeley are also in quarantine due to a possible COVID-19 exposure on Thursday (August 27).
According to the district's Chief of Communications Theresa Myers, health guidelines require quarantine whether a test is positive or presumptive positive.
The Greeley-Evans School District has opted for a hybrid between in-person and online learning since this school year began in August.
Other schools that have been offering in-person learning, including Highland High School and Windsor Middle School, have also had to implement quarantines due to positive tests.
