Greeley, Windsor Schools Still Planning In-Person Learning
With August just beginning, many school districts have had to come up with plans to continue the 2020-21 school year. Fort Collins and Loveland schools are relying on virtual learning to start the school year in the midst of rising COVID-19 numbers.
Weld County schools, however, are taking a different approach. Both the Greeley-Evans and Weld RE-4 (Windsor and Severance) school districts say they are planning in-person schooling as of Wednesday, Aug. 5.
Greeley-Evans School District Chief Communications Officer Theresa Myers said the district is planning a full in-person learning schedule for elementary and middle school students. A hybrid model of both in-person and remote learning is planned for high schoolers.
"And, this could all change tomorrow, Myers said. "Just the world we live in right now."
According to The Coloradoan, Weld RE-4 is providing a virtual option but in-person learning for elementary school students, along with a "hybrid" schedule for middle and high schoolers, will start August 17.
Middle and high schoolers will be broken into two groups, with their in-person school days staggered. They will also be requiring masks from staff and students inside the school at all times.
Let us know in the comments: what do you think about these approaches.
