Popular Colorado Restaurant Closed After Failed Attempt At To-Go Only

A To-Go-only concept in Colorado for one of the nation's more popular food chains has closed down its newest location in less than 2 years. It's surprising because it's the only location anywhere in the area of this popular restaurant.

To-Go Only Colorado Location Of Famous Chain Already Shut Down

After just opening less than two years ago, we were surprised to see that our local To-Go location of this popular national chain has already closed its doors. Although we never had the chance to try it, it always looked fairly busy when we'd pass by

The abrupt closure of the popular chain, the only version of it in the surrounding area, is a head-scratcher because the To-Go concept seemed genius for this particular chain. The main versions of this restaurant are always packed so this concept, in theory, should have boomed.

P.F.Chang's To-Go Location In Longmont, Colorado, Permanently Closed

The P.F. Chang's To-Go at 1100 Ken Pratt Blvd in Longmont, Colorado, was opened with a ton of hype and excitement from the local area in late 2022. However, despite initial excitement from the community, the To-Go-only version of this popular Chinese Bistro seemingly failed to gain enough traction to keep the doors open at this location.

Sure, it was next to extremely popular Chipotle and Wing stop locations, but P.F. Chang's brought something new that was nowhere close to the Longmont area. As seen on the door sign, the closest location is in Loveland at the Promenade Shops at Centerra.

There has been one being built at the Orchard Shopping Center in Westminster, but that feels like all momentum on that location has halted as well. Changs knocked down the former Mimi's Cafe location to build and bring the Westminster area's only Chang's location, but the building has not seen much if any progress in months, with some calling it an eyesore since it's sat untouched for so long. 

With the Longmont closure and the delay on the new Westminster location, it kinda makes us wonder if P.F. Chang's is having money or other behind-the-scenes issues, and is having to pause some current projects. It's too bad because their food is fantastic.

While no official reason was given for the closure, their official website does confirm Longmont's permanent closure.  There are still 9 Chang's locations, for now, across Colorado.
