When you love something as much as people in Colorado and around the world love the Denver Broncos, it's hard to accept change. Especially when that change is something as major as a uniform change.

We're not talking about a tiny update, this was a complete overhaul, leaving no real nod to the uniforms we had for the last quarter of a century. The uniforms that we wore when we won our only three Super Bowl Championships by the way.

We got our first glimpse of the new uniforms last week in Indianapolis, but with the all-white road combo, it wasn't anything to get fired up over. However, they swapped to the orange pants yesterday for their home pre-season debut, and now people are talking.

I took my son to the Broncos vs. Packers pre-season game on Sunday, August 18th, and not only got to see QB Bo Nix in his first home start for the Broncos at Mile High, but I finally got to see the new uniforms in person, and I gotta say, they really look sharp! I'm not the only one who thinks that though, am I Coach Prime?

This is the first time the Broncos have worn a white jersey with orange pants combo since 1979, and it felt worth the wait as they looked so good. I was hoping we'd see the orange home jerseys, but we won't see those at home until week 6 when Denver hosts the LA Chargers. The full uniform schedule is below...

The pre-season schedule doesn't show if Denver will be wearing Orange for this week's final pre-season game against the Cardinals, but the fact that we're not going orange at the home opener against the Steelers in week two is a surprise to me.

While we were hesitant at first, we're certainly coming around to the new look, as they really do look sharp. Love the numbers and the matte navy helmets. The throwback uni's against the hated Raiders are going to be smoking hot too.

So happy that football is back in Colorado, Go Broncos!

Jersey Numbers the Denver Broncos No Longer Use

These jersey numbers hold special reverence to the team and thus aren't allowed to be worn any longer. When longtime fans see these numbers they say, "He was the best!" "The GOAT!" "They couldn't have done it, without him!"
