Local Colorado Business Closed For Good After Over 100 Years
After over a century in Colorado, we're being forced to say goodbye to another longstanding local family-owned and-run Colorado business that has closed its doors for good.
After Over 100 Years This Local Colorado Business Is Closed For Good
The goodbye list for small and local Colorado businesses that are being forced to close continues to grow as 2024 rolls on. We're continuing to lose some fantastic local, and national businesses as well, way too quickly.
When 2024 kicked off I think the optimism for a good year for local mom-and-pop businesses was much higher than it was in 2023 as many things started to feel more "normal" than it has in years, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
After over 100 years in business in Colorado, another small family business has closed its doors for the final time.
Colorado Hanneck Dry Cleaners Closed After 101 Years
Opening way back in 1923, Hanneck Dry Cleaners and Shirt Laundry was a staple in the Denver community for over a century. How many local businesses can say that?
A sign on the window of the Colorado famous dry cleaners said:
After 101 years in business, we will be closing June 29. Thank you for your patronage! The clothes remaining will be donated. The Von Feldt Family.
Brothers Alfred and Herbert Von Feldt bought the business back in 1955, and have had it in the family ever since. Most recently Herbert's son, Joe Von Feldt, who is also a co-founder of Mile High Spirits Distillery, has been running the century-old dry cleaner.
No reason was given for the sudden quiet closure, but its loyal customers are certainly upset, and will greatly miss this long-standing local Colorado business.
