A Loveland man suspected of stealing a van that crashed into a lightpole Thursday in Fort Collins was tracked by a police dog and arrested.

John Joseph DeHerrera, 34, was arrested on charges of aggravated motor-vehicle theft and parole revocation after a warrant was served Thursday at 1925 S. Timberline Road.

Deputies continue to investigate the circumstances; DeHerrera is believed to be one of two men witnesses saw carrying a blonde woman from a crash scene near the Edora Pool Ice Center. The Chevrolet Venture was stolen from Campion, a small community between Loveland and Berthoud, according to Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
