ABC News, CNN and MSNBC are reporting that Oscar winning actress Elizabeth Taylor passed away this morning at the age of 79.

Taylor died today at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.   She entered the medical center two months ago for treatment of symptoms of congestive heart failure. Read more from ABC News.

Taylor was one of the most iconic stars of Hollywood's golden age.  She starred in such films as  "National Velvet, " "A Place In The Sun," "Raintree County," "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," "Suddenly, Last Summer," ""Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?," "Butterfield 8," and "Cleopatra."
