While fall in Colorado is beautiful with the colors changing, it also brings cooler weather and much more darkness than most prefer. We’ve now seen the last sunset after 7 pm of 2024.

When Does Fall Begin In Colorado?

After a pretty mild summer with not as many scorching hot days as we’ve experienced in previous summers in Colorado, the heat is on its way out and the coolness of fall is on its way in.
Fall officially begins this weekend (September 22nd) and we’ve certainly felt it coming from the cooler temps in the morning. It’s that time of year when you want to crank up the heat in the morning but need the AC back on by the afternoon. Our HVAC units are going crazy!
Now with fall approaching, and the cooler temps already here, comes the darkness.

The Last Sunset Over Colorado After 7 pm Has Officially Passed

As if the cooler morning temps weren’t a sign that fall is here, the sunset after 7 pm for the last time on September 19th. The next time we’ll see a sunset in Colorado after 7 pm won’t be until March.
Daylight savings time is on November 3rd, which means we'll fall back an hour, and those hated sunsets before 5 pm begin by December. The good news is that December brings us the most wonderful time of the year so that the Christmas lights can come on earlier... Glass half full!
