Derek Gets His First Tattoo

Finally!!!! This has been in the making for a looooooooooooooong time. I finally got a tattoo for my birthday. I was a little nervous at getting it. It's one thing to talk about getting one, and actually following through. I have been talking about getting one since I was in high school and there I was always saying, "As soon as I get the money I am going to get one!" That is the almighty excuse that works for almost everything, but when I was told I was getting one for my birthday, that excuse goes right out of the window. I HAD to follow through! I am glad I did!

Me being a nerd, I wanted something to show that, while it was also something that meant something to me. I had talked to my fiance about potential tattoos and she took the one that I talked about the most and set up a surprise appointment for me at Millennium. So my birthday day comes, and bam she tells me to get ready because we need to be there by noon and right away I got excited and the same time extremely nervous.

My experience there was awesome! I think one of the things that made me the most nervous was the fact that I had no idea what to expect. I have heard different experiences from tons of people that have gotten ink done, but not everybody is the same so it really didn't mean that much to me. Chuck,my artist and  one of the coolest guys I met, told me a little bit of what to expect and honestly made it awesome. I was fast while being precise and talking to me about everything from video games to music. There was some discomfort but that is to be expected because you are messing with your skin and nerves.

Anyway, long story short, I got a tattoo for my birthday and I love it! I have always heard people say once you get one, you'll want another and you know what? It's true!

A huge thank you to Millennium and Chuck, you rock! Let's try that again, YOU ROCK!!!!! Thank you for one of the best birthday, even life experiences! Chuck, we will see you soon dude!

Want to know what my tattoo is or where it is from? It is the Kojima fox from one of the greatest video game series ever (in my opinion) Metal Gear Solid! If you don't get it, that's ok! Tattoos are supposed to be special to the person that has it :) I also love foxes so that is another reason that I got it.
