I am pretty sure not everybody enjoys jury duty. I have heard some people get excited, but for the most part, people don't like it. I have heard stories of people saying they were going to try and get out of it, or if you are like me, you forgot you got a summons and have to call after you remember and make sure there isn't a warrant out for you. Whatever you do, don't make up something to get out of it.  Susan Cole showed up for her jury selection looking out of whack with curlers in her hair and mismatched shoes. When the judge asked the panel if they had mental illness she stated that she had trouble getting ready in the morning and that she broke out of violence in the military which had repercussions. One being PTSD. She was excused from her civic duties.

She almost got away with it too. That was until a few months later when the Judge happened to be listening to the radio when a lady called in and bragged about how she faked a mental illness to get out of jury duty.

She pleaded guilty and was given a two-year deferred judgment for the felony count of attempting to influence a public servant, a felony, and two years of probation for the misdemeanor count of second degree perjury.

Just goes to show you, be careful what you say because you never know who is listening. Also, don't fake stuff to get out of jury duty.
