Denver Broncos Star Safety Out For At least A Month, Maybe More
It's been made official that the Denver Broncos star safely, defensive leader, and team captain will miss at least the next four weeks of action on the field due to an injury this week.
Denver Broncos Defensive Star Out For At Least Four Weeks
As if the Denver Broncos didn't have enough negative chatter about them... Just three days after that heartbreaking one-point loss to the Seattle Seahawks this past Monday night, they now get the news that arguably their best defensive player, will be sidelined for the next month, at the minimum.
Denver Broncos Justin Simmons Injured, Out Four Weeks
After being drafted by the Denver Broncos in the 2016 draft, star safety, Justin Simmons, quickly made himself known on the field and in the stands with the fans. He's probably been the most consistent player on the field as far as staying healthy and consistent. In fact, he's played in 66 consecutive games dating back to the 2017 season... Until this week, anyway.
The team announced this week that their star defensive player would be placed on their injured reserve list to deal with a quad injury. This unfortunate injury will keep Justin sidelined for a minimum of four weeks due to the IR designation. The injury happened in the second half of the Denver vs. Seattle game this past Monday night. While you can't "replace" a player as special as Justin Simmons, the Broncos have some decent back-ups that can hold it down in the secondary while he heals up and rehabs to get back onto the field.
Denver has their home opener this Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High and hopes to move back into the win collum against the Houston Texans. Go Broncos.
