More than a year after Colorado's very first Whataburger locations opened, their newest location finally opened its doors to the public back in may. They also announced the next three Colorado locations.

New Colorado Whataburger Now Open

Although there used to be at least one Whataburger location in Colorado way back in the day, it had gone away for many years. Colorado folks were always raving about how good Whataburger and In-N-Out Burger were and the hype to get our own locations in Colorado was real. It wasn't long after In-N-Out announced its plans to debut in Colorado, that Whataburger announced its long-awaited return as well. The first of their new Colorado locations opened in Colorado Springs which is about a 1-2 hour drive from Northern Colorado of Denver. Is their newest location any closer?

Where Is Whataburger In Colorado?

Sadly, the newest Whataburger is nowhere near Northern Colorado or Denver. It's near the Garden of the Gods at 4455 Buckingham Drive, which is their fourth location in Southern Colorado. There are three more openings planned by the end of 2023 and to our surprise, they're all located in Southern Colorado too.

  • 706 East Fillmore Street, Colorado Springs
  • 2550 Montebello Drive West, Colorado Springs
  • 17889 Fat Tire Drive, Monument

The closest location to us will be the Monument location, but even that isn't all that close. You can see all of the current Whataburger Colorado locations here. We took a trip down south last year to see what all the fuss was about, and to us, it was not at all worth the drive.

Driving To Colorado Springs For Whataburger Is Not Worth It.

We went down to Colorado Springs for a WWE show last September, so it was an excuse to go visit a place I hadn't eaten at since the last time I was in Texas years ago. I was so excited!

I'm not sure if Whataburger is like In-N-Out where they're pretty much the same layout, but this looked familiar.

Seeing all of the options, we were pretty excited to be there.

We ordered quickly but it took about 20 minutes to be served. They bring it right to your table.

I remember loving the fries... I swear they were crinkle cut but I must have mixed them up. Sadly, these were cold and soggy but I was able to get some fresh fries. Truthfully, both Whataburger and In-N-Out lack in the fry department.

The burger on the other hand was pretty good overall. No complaints.

The boy enjoyed the chicken fingers but wished he had gotten a burger after trying mine.

Overall, it was fine. If it were closer to my house or the radio station, I'd certainly go back again and eat there from time to time. It's a solid burger. Is it worth the drive to Colorado Springs just to eat there though? No, absolutely not. Had we not had plans down there already, I'd have been extremely disappointed. Between the two burgers, In-N-Out is king. McDonald's owns the fries world though, right? Hopefully, they get a closer location so I can give it another shot.

The Loveland, Colorado In-N-Out Construction Is Finally Happening

The old Mimi's Cafe location has been demolished, and construction has begun at its former site for the new Loveland In-N-Out. It seems to be moving pretty quickly as you can see in the pictures taken just recently.
