Bandimere Speedway Says Goodbye To Morrison, Colorado Racetrack
If you've lived in Colorado for at least a decade or longer, there's a pretty good chance that you've been to a race or event at the famous Bandimere Speedway up in Morrison.
Known to race fans all over the world as "Thunder Mountain," Bandimere Speedway was more than just a drag racing strip. Opened in 1958 by John Bandimere, this one-of-a-kind racetrack was built in the same Morrison mountain area as Red Rocks.
Sadly, after over 60 years of drag racing action, Bandimere announced that it was closing after the 2023 season concluded. Their reason was that they needed to relocate to an area where they had more room to grow and expand their racing facilities.

While they haven't announced official plans for their new location, they did respond to one commenter on their Facebook page letting them know that they have new land secured and that details will be shared soon.
We, like many, cherish the memories made at Bandimere and are excited for whatever comes next for them. In the meantime, we found out what was happening to the current land back in June, and it was kind of surprising. You can read about that here.
