My History With 9 News In Colorado

At the risk of seriously dating myself, I can take my history with 9 News all the way back to when I was a little kid living with just my dad and younger brother at the Countryside Village Trailer Park in Westminster, Colorado. Staying up late with my dad, sitting in the living room watching 9 News. I loved Ed Sardella and Mike Landes. Heck, I cried when Mike Landes left. I remember thinking it was Mike Nelson, who was at 9 News at the time, who was the one leaving. Nelson came to my school and did his tornado dance, which was cool, but I just loved Mike Landes and as a 4-5-year-old kid I didn't understand why he was leaving. Silly kid. A lot has changed over the years, but with new ownership, are more changes on the way?

9 News, KUSA Denver, is owned by TEGNA, will now become the nation's "largest minority-owned, women-led broadcast group" according to an article 9News.com. TEGNA has been acquired by Standard General for approximately "$5.4 billion with an enterprise value of approximately $8.6 billion, including the assumption of debt" according to the press release. No word just yet on what that means for 9 News (KUSA) or their sister station My 20 (KTVD) as far as staff or programming changes go but we hope that all will remain the same.
