After a successful inaugural season in Northern Colorado, the Colorado Spartans Arena Football team has announced that they're leaving their current home at the Blue Arena and headed to Denver.

When the Colorado Crush Arena Football team made its debut at the Ball Arena (then Pepsi Center) in 2003 in the AFL (Arena Football League), it became extremely popular, extremely fast. The (now former) Denver Broncos owner, and NFL Hall of Famer, Pat Bowlen, teamed up with John Elway, and Stan Kroenke to bring Colorado its very first AFL franchise

The fans loved the fast-paced action of the AFL, but sadly the Colorado Crush folded in 2008. Shortly before the Crush folded, Northern Colorado introduced out own Arena Football team, the Colorado Ice, but they also went belly up in 2017.

In the Spring of 2024, for the first time since 2017, the Colorado Spartans were born, and Arena Football was back in Northern Colorado! But now, they're already leaving for greener grass down the interstate...

Colorado Spartans To Relocate To The Denver Coliseum For 2025 Season

In a surprise to many local NoCo Spartans fans, the team owner, Tony Thompson, announced that they would be leaving the Blue Arena after just one season, and relocating to Denver to play in the historic Denver Coliseum.

The Spartans' owner also said they plan to play in Denver at the old Coliseum for the foreseeable future and have high hopes to bring another championship to the great city of Denver. They certainly have the talent to do it.

Meanwhile, back at the Blue Arena in Loveland, the Colorado Eagles kick off their 2024-25 season this Friday, October 11th, against the Tucson Roadrunners.
