Our local Colorado community will soon be missing one of the state's most-known country music venues as it's closing its doors for good this Friday, July 26th. The "surprise, we're closing" announcement was a massive surprise to anyone who's ever been there as it was always busy.

The number of stories from people who met there celebrated huge milestone events there, or just popped in to eat, dance, or watch a band is endless. The love for this business was very apparent in the comments section as The Sundance announced that it was shutting down.

The frustrated business owners of the Sundance took to their Facebook page in the middle of the night on Sunday, July 14th, to break the bad news about why they'd have to close so suddenly.

Sundance Steakhouse & Saloon does not own the building or property at which all the amazing memories and stories were created. Like many other businesses, we lease the property. That lease expires very soon and despite our best efforts we were not able to come to a fair agreement with the property owners to ensure appropriate renovations were completed to extend our lease.

While it appears that the current business owners are exploring new options, for now, the last night in their current location will be this Friday, July 26th. It will no doubt be a packed house as we say goodbye, after 42 years, to our famous Sundance. Thanks for the memories!
