Disneyland designed their famous Main Street and other architecture in its theme park around inspiration from old buildings in Ft. Collins.

Disneyland is turning 60 years old today and a fact that most people probably haven't realized is that Disneyland was inspired by Ft. Collins. The old Courthouse from Mason Street inspired the dome on the City Hall in Disneyland. The Main Street Fire Station was also inspired by the Ft. Collins Firehouse archways and towers.

Walt Disney was presented drawings of these areas by artist Harper Golf, who was from Ft. Collins. Disney loved them and designed similar structures for Disneyland.
