To our surprise, and to the surprise of those who read it, King Soopers was listed as the worst grocery store chain in the country. 

Now, we’ve heard your backlash, and honestly, some of it was warranted. King Soopers does a great job serving shoppers here in Colorado. 

However, the same study by Solitaired.com has brought to light that Colorado also has four of the worst grocery stores in the country. Don’t worry, a King Soopers store isn’t on the list. 

Fourth Worst Grocery Store in Colorado: Walmart Supercenter on 3301 Tower Road in Aurora

To kick off the list, we have a store you certainly will see more on this list; Walmart Super Centers. 

The Walmart Supercenter located on 3301 Tower Road in Aurora, Colorado is listed as the fourth worst grocery store in Colorado, and the eighth worst in the country. 

This store in particular has a lot of reviews, with 9,008 people chipping in. Overall, it has a rating of 3.7 out of 5. 

Third Worst Grocery Store in Colorado: Walmart Neighborhood Market on 10400 E Colfax Avenue in Aurora

The Walmart Neighborhood Market on 10400 E Colfax comes in as the third worst grocery store in Colorado. 

Overall, Solitaired.com ranks it as the sixth worst in the entire country.

Out of 2,679 reviews, it has an overall ranking of 3.6 out of 5. 

Second Worst Grocery Store in Colorado: Safeway on 757 E 20th Avenue in Denver

This may be a vindicating moment for many of the people who read the King Soopers article. Many people said Safeway was worse, and this may prove their point. 

The Safeway on 757 E 20th Avenue is the second worst grocery store in Colorado, and the fifth worst in the entire country. 

It has a rating of 3.6 out of 5 with 2,797 reviews. Safeway is also rated as the seventh worst grocery store chain in the country, coming in seventh place. 

Worst Grocery Store in Colorado: Walmart Supercenter on 14000 E Exposition Avenue in Aurora

The lowest rated grocery store in Colorado is the Walmart Supercenter on 14000 E Exposition Avenue in Aurora. 

With 7,620, the store could only muster a score of 3.6 out of 5, just barely hitting that mark. 

If it wasn’t entirely clear, Walmarts across the country are consistently rated as some of the worst in the country. In fact, 38% of the worst grocery stores in the country are Walmarts. Walmart is also rated the fourth worst chain in the country. 

With All of This Being, What is the Best Grocery Store Chain in the Country? 

We’ve talked about a lot of negatives with these grocery store articles, but it begs the question: What grocery store chain is the best in the country?

By far, Trader Joe’s is consistently rated as the top grocery chain in the entire country, with an average star rating of 4.638 out of 5. 

In fact, 34 out the first 35 best grocery stores in the country are Trader Joe’s stores. While a Colorado store is not in the Top 50, it may be safe to assume the top grocery store in Colorado may be a Trader Joe’s.
