The Colorado Eagles announced that they'll be celebrating the 2017 & 2018 ECHL Kelly Cup Championship teams on March 3rd. Here's all we know.
Colorado Eagles Celebrate 2017 & 2018 Kelly Cup Championship Teams
Before the Colorado Eagles joined the AHL as the Colorado Avalanche's direct minor league affiliate, they finished their amazing run in the ECHL as back-to-back Kelly Cup Champions. As someone who was there for it all, those two seasons were incredibly special. The Eagles had won two President's Cups in the CHL but the Kelly Cup had eluded them for many years, so when we finally snagged a Kelly Cup, it was absolutely incredible. Then to do it again just one year later, was a pretty indescribable feeling. The Eagles are going to be celebrating those two incredible teams coming up in just a couple of weeks.
During the ECHL's "seven-city Kelly Cup tour" the Colorado Eagles will get a visit and an appearance from the Kelly cup at the March 3rd game against the Calgary Wranglers at the Budweiser Events Center.
The President of the Colorado Eagles, Ryan Bach said:
“What better way to salute an amazing group of individuals, than to showcase the trophy they hoisted as part of those festivities? The accomplishments of those players, coaches and staff will live forever in the hearts of Eagles Country and as we celebrate our 20th anniversary, it will be wonderful to relive those two incredible seasons.
There will be several members of the back-to-back championship teams in attendance, as part of a special on-ice tribute during the second intermission of the game on March 3rd. The Kelly Cup will also be on display for pictures at both the March 3rd and March 4th games. Get more at ColoradoEagles.com
